NAMBA would like to remind everyone that our Wednesday group rides will continue thoroughout December. Here’s the schedule for this month: 12/1 @ Jakes Rocks 12/8 @ Morrison Trail on Rte 59 12/15 @ Jakes Rocks 12/22 @ Hearts Content 12/29 @ Jakes Rocks Rides start at 6pm each week. Don’t forget to charge your lights or let us know if you need one to try out!
Reminders
Protect the Trails – The fall riding season is still here until the ground freezes, so if you are making ruts in the trail, please don’t ride the trails.
Hunting Season – PA hunting season has started. We have one more Sunday of hunting on 11/28. After that, Sundays will be open for riding in PA! Big game season runs through 12/11 in PA.
NY hunting season is also in full swing and they are allowed to hunt on Sundays. Night riding is encouraged.
ANF Winter Riding
The National Forest is going to try to groom some trails for cross country skiing and fat biking this winter. If you ride, please stay out of the ski track and only ride when the snow will support riding. When we get confirmed trail locations (Jakes will not be one of the trails), we will let everyone know.
Kinzua Connector Trail
The Kinzua Connector Trail was put to bed for the winter. The trail will connect Kinzua Beach with Morrison Trail and will eventually be a loop up past Rim Rock. So far, the Forest Service and NAMBA have built 1/2 mile of trail, but we still have two miles to go! More trail work days will be coming this spring, so stay tuned for details and come help out if you can!
NAMBA Meeting News
The November meeting focused on proposed by-law revisions. The revisions are posted here. Please go check them out as the revisions are important as the club moves foward with a large geographic area. The next meeting will be January 15th in Bemus Point, NY. Time and location will be finalized soon.
Jake’s Fest
We had a great time at Jake’s Fest this year and hope you did, too. I would like to thank everyone who volunteered their time to help unload bikes, talk with people, and help with rides. Everyone we talked with had a blast and is looking forward to next year.
Thanks for reading the Ramblings, and we’ll see you on the trails.
